SmartFit: Try Before You Buy

Clothing shoppers often make decisions from flat product photos, uncertain about how a garment will look on their own body. SmartFit explores a more personal shopping experience using photos and a digital model to preview clothing choices before buying.

Explored a shopping journey aimed at improving fit confidence before checkout.

My role: Product and application developer

The challenge

Uncertainty about fit creates hesitation and can lead to buyer regret. Online shopping does not offer the reassurance of a fitting room.

The part I led

I developed the product interface and interactive account/dashboard flows for a virtual fitting experience, including the path from user onboarding toward personal model and outfit exploration. The repository describes AI/3D model creation as a product flow; it does not prove that its full garment simulation is production validated.

The result

The application provides a foundation for exploring clothing on a personal digital representation and making shopping decisions with more context. Reduced returns and increased conversion remain business goals, not measured achievements.

The decisions and work behind it

  • Translated the fitting-room problem into a guided photo-to-model and clothing-exploration journey.
  • Developed onboarding, account and dashboard experiences around the shopper rather than the clothing catalogue alone.
  • Defined how fit confidence could improve retail decisions without claiming unmeasured return-rate improvements.
